 HistoryThis brief letter will help you determine if I am the right candidate for a position with your company. I am American born and raised and have English as my mother tongue. I have lived and worked in Sweden for ten years and have learned to speak Swedish at a conversational level. I left college as electronics major but have made a career choice of web programmer working mostly with back-end systems. I like problem solving and re-factoring of web applications while making user interfaces more intuitive. Programming languages that I have worked with include Classic ASP, Perl, PHP and Javascript. I am self-educated in many programming disciplines and just recently have immersed myself into learning Microsoft’s ASP.NET MVC framework. Though I have certification for Microsoft’s SQL Server 2000 I have worked the last few years with MySQL databases. Lately I have become interested in applying column oriented database design and other data warehousing techniques to increase performance of web applications. In the last three years I have worked exclusively as a Drupal WCMS systems developer and have contributed to other PHP open source content management projects like Joomla and Wordpress for the last 5 years. My first job as professional Drupal developer came when working for the Swedish Computer Society while helping them build a portal and community web site. Most recently I worked as a systems developer for Studentis AB, a company specializing in online communities and student web portals. Soon I will be releasing my own version of the Drupal content management system software. This release will allow the Drupal core systems to be manipulated for higher performance and scalability on high traffic websites. I aim to use PHP5 to the fullest and reduce the use of fancy bloat features. Objective Please consider me for work as a web developer, webmaster or web applications developer if your company has a team of people with established roles. If there are well proven project management and planning techniques in place. I also want to be able to learn from others and continue to develop as a programmer and in other areas of IT. If there is a bowling team I can join within the staff then all the better. Salary I would like a starting salary of 30.000 sek per month. A good possibility of telecommuting later on is requirement at this salary level. If telecommuting is not possible then my asking salary is 33.500 per month.
